I think MOST people LOVE to ride (other peep's) Fiddy's. Most don't want to drop the $1250 OTD price dealers want, so I am proposing a solution. I was *considering* purchasing Fiddy's to rent out.
What do you guys think?
$15/ hour or $25 all day. You and a buddy rent them on the "friends" program for $45/pair for the day or $125 Fri-Sun.
Feedback?
(Can someone photoshop a "Frank's Fiddy Rental" ad?)

If you want a way to make money, get a place in or around Branson and rent out mopeds, or even fiddy's.

I dunno if that would make you mone. those things are so darn cheap to buy and with no insurence or tag necessary for 50cc and under, just about any one can afford to just buy 1.

I know, but how many take them to Branson on vacation with them? Those things would be perfect down there to zip around the relief routes on and void the HUGE traffic jams they have down there ALL summer.

When I was in Hawaii, there were scooter rentals at every corner, and all I remember is $25. I don't know for what time period you got the scooter for, the $25 just stuck in my head.
Yeah, I know it would not be a money maker as much as give people the chance to test drive them for a cheap price.
Yes Alex, they are only $1000, however to some that is still enough money that they will not spend the money on an "extra toy".

Excellent idea!! I have riden and crashed Franks fiddy several times last time the group went to Hallett and am very seriously thinking about getting one next summer if I can come up with the money, but riding the 600 is taking up all my money right now, tire here, tire there, tank of fuel everywhere.

It would be great to take one to a track day and ride to different spots to see how other people take some of the corners.

Your biggest concern would probably be liability. What happens when some idiot rents one and hurts himself? I can easily see a sleazy lawyer suing you for faulty equipment or something along those lines.
But, yeah, I could see renting one to use as a pit bike.

Good idea, just remember, those without lights are not street legal. You must have brake lights, etc...to be driven on the street.

Who WAS that handsome devil giving his testimony in your ad?
****... what a looker! And what is up with the eyebrow?
I wasn't so sure, but with those wise words, I'm all for renting a fiddy now!

I think just about everyone wants one. What holds me back is that I'm sure it would be great for several hours in the parking lot, but after a few months and the newness wears off you'd be like "ah why bother pulling them out, to much of a hassel". This solves that problem. You also don't have to worry about maintence and storage.
They are fairly creap to rent also, you would have to rent them 48 times to pay for one.
Brand new = $1200
48 * 25 = $1,200
I would get the pair for $45 a day, but I probably wouldn't spend any more than that because I'm a cheap bastard.
would it just be the xr50 or would it be stuff like the x1 super pocket bikes?

I'd be cool if he could build a mini race track and rent out pocket rockets to race.

YES, that IS my biggest concern. The business would be set up as an LLC, and a BROKE LLC. at that, since there will only by bike inventory as assets. And insurance would be high.

Jack,
I am glad you said that, I am STILL trying to get clarification on that. I printed something from the State of Missouri website that states UNDER 50cc, no MOTORCYCLE license needed (you do have to have a valid DL), no tags, no helmet, and no lights. You cannot ride within 20 mins of dark, ie 20 mins AFTER sunrise and 20 mins BEFORE sundown.
It also states that they can be ridden everywhere EXEPT highways and interstates. I think they also cannot exceed 45 MPH.
Can we get clarification, and if so, where can I find that info besides this print out I have?
Thanks,
Frank

I agree, I hope this does solve the above problem. Yeah, it is not a money maker, and with repair costs, it *could* be a money loser. This is great feedback guys, keep it coming.

I personally do not feel that pocket bikes are anywhere NEAR as durable, both engine wise and hard parts. Also, I think that encourages riders to drag knee, etc instead of just flipping one over is a wheelie, etc.

Thank you very much for the feedback, I may purchase a small fleet in March to try this out.
