A buddy of mine is looking for a RC51, anyone have an idea where a good place to look for one is?

Have you tried Bentonville and Fayetteville? They always seem to have more sport bikes than the dealers around here.

Careful with Cycle Trader, there are a LOT of scams on there. It is called the "Nigerian Scam" where they offer to pay for shipping if you pay "only half" of the money now, and the rest when the bike arrives. Problem is you don't ever get the bike. When I reported this to Nixa Police, they said www.traderonline.com is the one they have the most problem with.

Cycle Trader is still a great source, just take precautions to protect yourself. It can be a mess, I know 1st hand.

I second that www.ebay.com idea.

Also...if you're buddy has never ridden a RC....then I would suggest he rethink it. I am a previous RC51 owner and I can say from experience as a daily street bike it absolutely sucks! This is a track bike period...from the suspension to the powerband. It is also uncomfortable as hell. Trust me...you won't like it on the street much.

Joplin and Neosho both have some. A couple are the Nicky edition.

Great, Thanks guys I will let him know. Sixual I think he has riden one before but I am not sure, he had a cbr 600, which got stolen, and he talks like he has knowledge of the RC51, but I will let him know what you said.

I have ridden an 03 and loved it. Power is awesome. If you like twins, it is a great bike for the money. As for powerband, I don't know it has enough torque to pull a house of the foundation, so I'm not sure why the power wouldn't work for a daily bike. Suspension is firm, but about right if you ever want to ride the curves. Not arguing, guess I just had a different impression about them.

oh, they'll do 200, ask that kid in michigan, and the cop that wrote him up for it. A K&N filter, and slip ons, boom!!! 200. You always heard about the speed wars between the Busa and ZX12. Its over. Honda won with a kid in Michigan and an RC51. Just another reason to buy one, they go 200. Good point Jason. :)

:laugh :laugh :rofl :laugh :laugh YEAH RIGHT. I would like to see that little bike beat the BUSA or the zx12.

They will NOT do 200+ with slip on's ....period. With more mods maybe..but with slip ons and a K&N....total BS. I suppose you guys believe anything you hear on the net....hopefully not.

I had a K&N and Sato Slip on's I did a top speed run on 65 highway and reached an indicated 167. With an 8% speedo margin of error that could have been + or - 13mph.

Plus...no officer is going to write you up for clocking you at 200+...you ass is going to jail. I also double checked with michigan law and that is instant 90 day lockup / license suspension for that kind of speeding infraction.

but then again what do I know...I only owned and rode one myself. ;)

With that said....lets keep this on topic. This is a wanted ad and should be kept as such...not a discussion. If you wish to continue with the RC51 capabilities discussion...please create a topic in the lounge.

You guys need to chill a little. I was poking fun at the kid in Michigan who got a ticket for doing 200+ on a RC51. Some donut dunker in a plane with his stopwatch wrote him up for doing 200 something. Jason brought it up, and I added on a little. Take it easy buddy. I agree with you, slip ons and a K&N will not make it do 200 period. With a timing advance though, you better get back. :admonz
