your not a lagger !! Come ride.. !!
Definitely take every opportunity to ride.
We always take about the same amount of time when doing 125 because we will stop at Bradleyville and Rueter. No such thing as a lagger, just a smart rider.
See ya out there.

You only lag behind if/when you fall down, so stay upright and there shouldn't be a problem. That's my theory anyway. Should be a good time.

I'd be up for one last fling!! I'll be *****-footing it along at cruiser speed.:chrbeat
It'll be fun. Bring it on Team Green. Lets go ride! Glad your coming along VTX! We'll listen for ya.
What time shall we make it for? Leave at 9 or 9:30? Remember the sun comes up an hour earlier so its like leaving at 10 or 10:30.
Everyone can make is as long or as short of a ride as they want. I'm sure there will be plenty of people turning around at various points on the ride; reuter, ferry, Arkansas, Texas Coast, Mexico. :D NOT the last two. he he

Are there any subsonic riders here? Guys like Fisdu, CNI and RJ are on a whole different skill level than me and I hate always being the one everybody's waiting on.
Fisdu

It's not that my skill level is that good, I have just ridden 125 about 500 times over the last couple of years. Practice makes perfect(or closer to it in this case). Haven't you noticed how much slower I am when we go past Rueter? I have only ridden that way about 5 times now so I don't know the road and ride much slower.

Hey Pearsonm,
Did you get your bike back together so you can ride tomorrow. Same with Fisdu, or are you going to ride it naked
I only keep up with them guys because I go like a bat out of heck in the straight a ways. I like to lean in the corners but not going as fast as they do.
Hope we get to cross the ferry tomorrow and maybe ride 123 backwards this time. I think it would be great going uphill over them switchbacks as compared to down hill.

I can't ride mine naked, The headlight and gauge cluster are attached to the upper fairing instead of directly to the bike.
BUT Frank hooked me up with some crashed plastics that worked for my bike so I will be there in my blue leathers on a red/black bike!?! Someone should warn him, he told me not to go to FAST and wreck so he can still sell them :D
I have more problems going slow than fast :doh :hmm

Pearson, don't worry about us waiting on you. We wait for EVERYONE no matter who you are!!! We don't mind. We would rather, and frankly love, to wait for people rather than having to go back and look for you in a ditch! So don't make that the factor in whether you ride or not!

That they do. They'll wait for you at Bradleyville, Router, and the ferry if they don't pick a few other places for someone to catch you on the way. Hopefully they will have a Chatterbox in the rear!

Is everybody meeting at 9:00 am today. Looks like an incredible day to ride.
Fisdu, I think the color scheme should be great, very visible so any cagers can see you coming. Leave it that way.
I hear that Jason wants to go so we might be leaving no later than 9:30a.

Just an FYI for those of you that weren't there today. If you are in AR and you pass a crappy a$$ brown minivan be careful the next time you pull over. Hooter passed the guy and when we pulled over later to wait for everyone to catch up, the guy got out of the van and came over an punched Jim right in the chatterbox, and I mean the chatterbox that was on the side of his helmet which was still on his head?!?! The guy then proceeded to grab Jim around the head try and push him over his bike before we could get ahold of him and break it up. Before he got in his van and left, he told Jim that was "CRAZY" for passing them on the double yellow and trying to KILL him and his wife. I think he told Jim he was CRAZY about 5 times before Jim finally asked the guy "Are you hurt?" to which the guy responded "Your CRAZY"(again) so Jim asked him again, "Are you hurt?" and I think the guy said no this time since Jim told him to calm the f*** down and get back in his van.
It was quite an experience. For some reason this guy felt is would have been Jims fault for passing him if he lost control of his minivan and killed someone?!?!? I don't think that any of us that saw the pass felt it was a bad pass, he never put anyone in danger! Yes there was a double yellow, but 90% of the roads in AR are double yellow for some reason. When he passed the guy, we could see for at least 1 mile down the road and knew no other vehicles were coming at us, but there was a hump in that section of the road. There were 2 guys that passed at that point, then CNI and I followed directly after but for some reason the minivan nutjob focused in on CRAZY Jim??
Disclaimer: I did not put CRAZY in this story nearly enough to show how many times the guy actually said CRAZY. I think a couple of the times, he had saliva drooling out of his mouth when he was yelling it at Jim!!

i wonder if it was the same white trash that hit me in a brown van in wal mart parking lot over a year and a half ago. it was a hit and run so if it was the guy could you all get my money. he owes me $5600 dollars for busting up my bike.

LOL... I can still here that guy..
"your CRAZY man!!.... CRAZY"
I liked what RJ said after the guy left..
"Why would anyone stop and pick a fight with a guy, when 8 of his freinds are standing next to him?"
Not that we had to do anything, Jim pretty much just thru the guy onto the hood of his Mini Van, and told him to "Calm the F*** down !" :)
Your CRAZY Jim, just CRAZY !!
:D :D :D

Be careful about passing when there's a hump in the road. I did that on 39 and almost hit someone head on. A few months later, a friend of mine did the same thing.
It looks like you can see for a mile or two, but the hump in the road manages to hide things.
One of my biggest fears is angering someone in a cage and having them come after me. I guess it may be a good thing, because it keeps most squidly behaviour in check. I'll occasionally pass on a double yellow, but only if the car is going very slowly and there's plenty of visibility.
That's what I get for raking leaves on a nice Sunday. Doug, I'm sorry I missed your call. Didn't have the phone on all day. Larry and I went on a good ride Saturday, perfect weather, so Sunday was yard day.

Sorry i didn't make it with you guys, I went on the toys for tots ride and there was a TON of bikes there. There was easily 500 bikes that left out of the legends theater in branson and went to forsythe(sp?). 4given squid, wooley, snow, kieth&ronnie, lucky, and a few others that i can't remember names.
We had a blast down there and went back to branson and had lunch at ruby tuesdays. party of 24!
all in all, we had a great time for the MOST part.

Hooter beat the crap out of the guys hand with his helmet. Money says the guy left the scene and went straight to the hospital to get his hand x-rayed.
I think the guys that got there before me got into it pretty quick as well but mostly just to break things up before Hooter lost his temper.
Could you imagine would have happened if we were all members of the Hells Angels. Probably 6 pistolys pulled out and would have wasted that guy and then raped and shot his wife and friends too. She wasn't pretty I don't think but then If we were Hell's Angels.
That's what I was thinkin.

I think what it boils down to is that I just scared the crap out of the guy. He was just drivin along with his wife and I am sure his sister in the back seat(who he probably also sleeps with) on a nice Sunday drive to church (by the looks of him being in his Sunday best with that lovely hat!!). And here we come flying buy at about 110. He never saw us comming I am sure.
Anyway, I didn't hit the guy back because I didn't want to hurt him. I had my helmet, leather jacket, and riding boots on - it would have been very easy for me to beat the crap out of him. But he didn't really deserve it. I think throwing him onto the hood and putting him in a head lock until he cried Uncle was enough. He is an idiot for picking a fight like that with 8 other guys there, hell, he shouldn't have even stopped much less thrown any punches. But he didn't deserve a beating. I just wanted him to calm down and quit pushin me, he wasn't hurting me - he was just making a complete A** of himself. It wasn't easy keeping my temper in check, but I did just buzz the guy doing twice the speed limit. I like to think that I choose my fights well, and he just wasn't worth it.

Hooter, sounds like you did the right thing. You took a bad situation and kept it from escalating into something worse. You have my respect.
By the way, there's a white bike in the pictures. I think I've seen that around 248 before. What kind is it?
tempest

I believe that's the original CBR.
And you probably have seen it going down 248.... briefly.
I often get a great view of it's tail light.

Yeah, if that is CNI's bike your referring to, most of us only see tail light, he is pretty fast on that thing!!
