Allright guys The planning for events this year was a little loose so Im putting together this Pre-Planning thread. Most of the dragracers are not on this board and Ill relay by phone to them.
There is a lot of "new blood" on the site so if any of you are interested in the race game feel free to jump in and join us on some of these trips. We have a great time.
If there are any events that you would like to see put into the schedule or any suggestions, speak up nows the time.
*Early spring trip to St. Louis for NHRA licensing. Any bikes that are running 9.99 or faster need a license to run. If your not that fast some of the events require the license too, , its not a bad thing to have, all the details and requirements will be posted soon.
*April, The Blessing of the bikes, Mokan puts on this event each year, all types of bikes are welcome and not all race its just a good large bike event to bless the bikes for the season with of course some fun and gamblers racing too!
* Centerville Ar. All bike drags.
*Mokans Bracket Points Championship. There are several of us that will be running the entire points season at mokan this year. Its good racing at a great track, schedule TBA
*OIR (rogersville) Its been hard getting a set schedule over there so this year we are going to set up 4 (or more) Friday night Gamblers brackets. Lots of fun racing schedule will is TBA and payouts will be 80%/20% 1st and Runner up.the usual gate fee of $10 to the track will apply, gamblers pot will be a $20 entry.
*We will be attending the Texas shootout
*I am currently retrieving information for KCIR and Tulsa speedway events to add to the season.
* There are also a few team events available, We would need a 10 man/woman team to take on teams from other tracks we would represent OIR if there is enough interest. so if your interested in trying out for the oir team let me know.
Ok guys time for input where do you wnat to go next year?
Doc

Doc I will run for team OIR, also I know it would be a pretty good drive but I was talking to a guy (bought that dragbike that I had down there the other day) that runs over at Sikeston and he said they have 4 different events on Sunday through out the season. I don't exactly remeber the payout but it was real good. When I find out the dates I will let you know if your interested.

Ill drive some, I Like the weekend events! The team finals will be a drive too, Its in Noble Ok, for 05. Im not sure where sikeston is.
I found another track in Benton that has some bike events. Its just a short track though
I got an event date for the blessing of the bikes so, april 23 is on the calender.
The CDRA schedule wont be out till mid december but lets go ahead and get some dates on these events as they become available.
From what I understand Witchita has some really good all bike events too, its about 6 hrs from here but the drive doesnt bother me, I want to get out and see some new tracks next year.
Id like to find at least one large event to travel to each month and fill the rest of the dates with the locals. Im kinda waiting on the Mokan 05 schedule to get the dates on all the points races and schedule somewhat around that.

Its basically on the other side of Missouri from Springfield north of Popular Bluff. They have a calander on the site www.sikestondragstrip.com but it is for 04. I don't mind driven aslong as its cost efficent if you know what I mean.

Hey Doc,

Nice work putting this together. I look forward to making some of this next year.

If you know of anyone looking for a drag bike, I am selling the VTX. I'm asking $11.5 I have started on a blown alcohol bike for next year. This winter is looking very short!

Brother David, Good to hear from ya thought you disappeared.
Know of any other a bike drag events? the only thing I have to put in my schedule is the Mokan point series (waiting on the dates) and organize a couple gamblers races for OIR.
Dont know of anyone right off hand on the VTX, But anyone on here reading and looking for one, that is a pretty darn consistant bike.
email me some pics of the alcohol project, my building is not nearly that ambitious for this winter and Im allready thinking Im running out of time. If you need a set of hands on that bike give me a hollar Ill turn some wrench's with ya. By mid next month my busy season will be winding down and I should have a little free time.

I think you have everything and more covered that I know about.

I don't have much for pics yet but if I can get them loaded I'll send them to you.

I appreciate the offer. Swing by sometime when you are up this way. As for the bike, I don't have much done yet. I have been waiting on the blower to design and build a frame around. I just got on here this week. I hope to start the frame in the next couple of weeks. I have quite a bit done to the engine. The cylinder and cases are about done and the heads have come a long ways but there is quite a bit of work left on them.

Doc, look into the PMRA events, they are all bikes and they run in Noble, OK and Witchita, KS. They don't have a 2005 schedule posted yet but they run 6 or 7 events every year.

Think about Truett & Osborne at Wichita, late in the season. About 3 to 1 , imports to H-D's, 2 dayer, and a good party in the evening. can camp or sleep under the tarp right there. always way over 100 bikes, and several classes.

Also Soul Brothers at KCIR, 100% sport bikes over 150 last year I think. nice people organize this one, and KCIR is a GOOOOOD track! awesome return road, lots of shut down, all Paved pits, all concrete walls.

Blessing of the bikes ( april?) will be bigger this year at Mokan.

Stay at it Doc! get those guys down here in the points! could be an awesome program! Plus, bikes will start getting more and more attention at Mokan, ( can't talk about it , but trust me on that one)

as soon as I get any dates I'll get them to Doc. We are building up the V-rod he he he ( evil laugh) and the Zuk , is ready for assembly. My Kat is about 50% right now. ( working out some carb issues)

Talk to you soon Doc and all ! Rob Lewis

I say lets just do our own thing or have them allow any type of bike to run so we can get a few more bikes then what was showing up last year.

I followed Janie's link for dragbike, com an looked at the events calander and Sikeston has a race on May 15th and Sept 18th but according to the person that posted it Sept's race ain't set in stone.

I noticed Rogersville doesn't happen to have anything planned for May and June so it looks like there will be some travling going on.

DOC check your PM.

Yep, there will be some miles. Disappointingly, OIR did notta for the bike program. the dates on the schedule, we will be on our own for some gamblers stuff on tnt night. I just put them in there on open dates for something to do locally. Thats OK though Mokan is not that far. And just keeping up with their points program will be aot of racing.

Thanks! Almost, we will probably mostly stick around STL this year. We will go to KC for Soul Brothers for sure, maybe the others too. Depends on Charles' work schedule. We might try to get to at least one Rockingham, NC race and maybe a few Prostar races. Nothing set in stone on those yet. I think if we get a chance we may swing down to Springfield this summer.

Charles is starting up a new business "Chrome 911" chrome wheels installed in about an hour at your home, work, race track, you name it. Shameless little plug :D Anyway, he wants to kinda stick around town for that. Oh, by the way he has Hayabusa and GSXR1000 wheels in stock now and should have all summer long. If anyone is interested give us a call 314-956-5465.

I need to update our web site with our schedule, thanks for the reminder!

He said they are working on a web site for the races right now.
