View Full Version : Infraction count / status

Is there a way for us to know when we've received an infraction? Aside from the "we'll try to send you a PM" route? Any way for us to check our account / status / etc to see if / when something has been marked?

If we're booted due to infractions (that we've not been made aware of), is there an appeals process? How can you be punished for infractions that you didn't know you were penalized for?

Lastly, do we still get cookies, milk and nap time? ;)

When we warn or send infractions it automatically sends you a PM and the mod/admin has the opportunity to give you a description/explanation.

Also if you click your USER CP it will list all your infractions there.

So the PM is automatically generated by the vBulletin system? It's not something where we would have to rely on it being manually sent by a mod / admin?

i think he is asking about that little screen shot that was initially posted up in the original new rules/laws/constitutional amendments thread of the warnings page...is there a way we can see that??

I don't suspect we can see that, as that will be an Admin / Mod only capability. But it would be nice to be able to see our "scorecard", of you will...

Also...how long do the infractions last before "falling off"? Or is it cumulative, and indefinite?

:lame ....but i like the use of the word Score Card... now is this like golf, where you try to keep the number low....or is it like just about any other sport and we say run em up and see who gets banned first? :D

half and half. As soon as we issue an infraction/warning it opens another screen where we can choose what infraction you have committed. Below all that it looks just like a regular PM to someone with a subject line and content. IN there we can say whatever we wish.

Lucas has the system automatically set up for a set period of time. the more infractions you get the more time you are banned. Also we have the ability to make it a custom set time for repeated banned offenders...which I don't expect to see too many of!

I can give you a warning with no points and have it expire in an hour if you'd like to see. I can also reverse any warning/infraction.

I've clicked on the "User CP" area. I see no infractions, nor any place to view them. Is this something that only shows up once you have an infraction?

Would you mind generating an infraction for a "site test" member (or temporary one for myself), so that a screen shot can be posted? I think this would be a great way for people to see what to expect, should they receive an infraction.

So...just to clarify...is a PM automagically sent even if no content is entered? Is the sending of a PM an automated, integrated part of creating an infraction, or would it still be possible (not probable, possible) to receive an infraction with no notification? Ie, if any part of the PM-sending process is manually driven...

Just to clarify...it would be possible to receive an infraction, and -not- receive notification of it?

If a mod gives me an infraction, and neglects to put anything in the "PM" portion...will I receive a blank PM with no information (automatically sent as part of the infraction procedure), or will I receive nothing at all (must be manually sent)?

Thanks Steve! For those wondering, here's what the Infraction process looks like:

First off, NO infractions:

first picture (view of User CP area).

PM notification pop-up (second picture).

PM notification in inbox (third picture).

View of infractions in CP User area (fourth picture).

Actual text / look of the infraction (fifth picture).

I think so. I just wanted to know if notification was integrated, and guaranteed to happen regardless of any additional moderator / admin input. Ie, even if a mod / admin didn't fill out the PM part, we would still receive -some kind- of notification from the system.

ass is acceptable by the film industry under the PG-13 rating, which is what we are trying to uphold. I pretty much consider anything you hear on Family Guy fair game. So if you want to say you had a ***** of a time figuring out the word filter than that is ok. As far as the PH-word, NO that would not be acceptable and WOULD be bypassing the word filter. :)

Oh and B, I "reversed" the warning I gave you. It still shows up under your USER CP just to let you know. Did you get a notification of it being reversed? It didn't give me any other options or areas to put a message so I'm guessing not. After that I went in and just deleted the whole thing from your user so now there should be no traces of that.

All a list would do is give the people who like to bend the rules something to shoot for.
