Just wondering if you had a Safety Forum some where just some short do's and don't s of the road? What to look for how to look how to drive defensively, what type of gear is good tires weather. Just some tips for the Green guys.. :D

Thanks ;)

There really is not Safety Forum here, although people are very good to give road conditions and such. If you hang around long enough you will hear, "ride you own pace" over and over again. Best thing to do is to find a riding buddy, someone that will wing you and show you the rope. I had one back in the 80's I rode with, I even had one last year, someone that has miles on them. Remember the saying, "$10,000 and 1500 miles does not make you a biker". It is kind of a dig, but it does ring with truth.

Ride your pace, and learn the bike as well as the roads, best advice I can come up with right now.

Great idea though...

We can make a special forum for "Ride Safety" if there is an interest! :)

Might help the green riders out or those passing by on the site. I know it would help me. That way I sort of get an idea of things, even though, most is on the road learning. But just the same. :)

I think we should have one.

although it might not get the thread count other sections have there are lots of very good threads for noobs and people thinking about getting bikes would like to read. Instead of hunting for it they could go right to it. plus it would be a good forum to keep the road conditions and stuff in

IMO i think its a good idea.

I'm all for it too, but I foresee a little "don't tell me how to ride" coming out of it...

There is nothing "safe" about riding a bike.........if you make it home from the ride in one piece.....it was a "good" ride :D If you want safe....walk . :p

A Safety Forum is an excellent idea. Been riding dirt bikes most of my life. Only have about 20 to 30,000 miles on street bikes. But I learn something every time I ride. You can never be too safe!

I think we all know there is a risk, thats not what this post is about. Its about a forum where people can learn to reduce the risk factor a little. Proper gear (who likes what and why), road conditions stuff like that is what he is after. Not a goldwing with a air bag and training wheels.

It would be very helpful to have gear reviews. It's so hard to tell what's good and what's not especially if you're doing your shopping on the Internet.

I think this site has road conditions covered though...

Alright, pay attention not only to the car infront of you but also like 5 car's up not to metion everythig else around you.Don't hit a car, don't let a car hit you.Ride like their all gonna try to kill you.Know your level and DO NOT PUSH IT TRYING TO LOOK COOL! As far as gear icon, lbz,or alpinestar are all safe bet's...Sorry I hate Joe Rocket stuff.Other than this, know the people your riding with, their's so many tools on sportbike's it's beyond retarded.

Riding street's take's year's and year's of getting used too,pay close enough attention though for enough year's and you'll know what car's are gonna do before they do it.

Here I wrote this awhile back.

"Dumb people with bike's.

So on Friday me and my girl are at a stop light. Here come's a kid on a new Gsxr with short's tanktop and flip flop's on.I did'nt say sh!t about any of it and she look's at me and asked ''what kinda dumbazz ride's in flip flop's? My only reply was someone that has never crashed a bike.I tell here that the life span on a sportbike is about 4 month's,then we went on about are day.

Later on that night I get a call from someone that hang's out at the ''spot'' with you know the kid's with the nice bike's and have air in their tire's.Any way there was a new Gsxr hauling azz by there and hit a car head on.

Come to find out it's that same kid..Don't get me wrong.I feel bad for the kid.But in all honestly this pisses me off and I don't really know at who?

The car's and cop's alway's blame bike's and bike's alway's blame the car's and cop's.Im not claiming to be innocent on the street's.I once road a wheelie smack into the side of a mini van and landed in their backseat on top of their kid's..Followed by being sued for alot of money. So what I still do it.From time to time.So I know that mess up's do occur.I still have to visit the E.R. from time to time..

I can't put into word's what goes through your mind while your sliding down the street or''parkinglot'' watching your bike spin beside you or hitting a pilar and it goes flying.Other than the fact as soon as I hit the ground I know I f@$ked up..Sometime's you can pick your bike up and keep playing on into the wee morning hour's and other time's your damn lucky if you got a truck and a ride to the hospital there with you.

8 out of 10 time's you can correct just about anything on a bike. It's your job of owning that bike to be able to ride the sh!t out of it.Not just use your credit hoping this bike you charge will get you laid..When you ride on the street's ride like they are all gonna pull out and try to kill you.Cause 2 block's further down the road a b!tch on a cell phone in a suv will pull out in front of you.I promise you that..

Bottom line Im sick of dumbazz's with money or kid's with rich parent's getting bike's and having no clue what to do with them? These are the people that get you harassed by the cop's.I'm sorry but doing 170 on a street call's for not much skill at all and to be f'nnnn retarded. If your gonna get a bike to be like the movie biker boyz why not try to be more like that gay azz movie with Icecube.Try 180 endo's on pine needles and kicking off tree's.Know what better yet.Try that **** with the train and please have your closest partner record it and send me your footage.Yes I know I'm a messed up person.

Being a stuntrider you are the cause for all of this sh!t and blamed for the harrassment from cop's..By other people with sportbike's.They can ride the same road's all the time at highspeed's and they do no wrong.Bull ****ing sh!t.I do a wheelie doing 15mph in traffic and in their word's make's me a ''tard''.Do you have any clue how much harder it is to ride a rear brake than twist a throttle and tuck?

When my bike is working I put in atleast 20hrs a week in on it,and the people who judge us ride maybe 6hrs a week. But alway's have the same story.''Oh freak man I topped my sh!t out last night at like 183mph down hill with a the wind pushing me.''Well some sh!t like that.We never have the same story. It's more like oh Im bailing off when my bar hit's or Im hittin easy now or my foot is no where by the brake or uh my bike is broke, again.,or I got 13 ticket's lastnight..

Moral is if your riding safe or stuntin the street's if you eat sh!t?It's your fault and no one else's.Really think about it.

And when your pointing the finger at someone, there a 3. more on your hand aimed right back at you

Don't get pissy.I've had bestfriend's die on bike's often.Cruiser's,sport, all kind's.Do I miss them and riding with them, every f@$king day. I pass by their memorial spot and wave or get chill's feeling like their riding next to me for a second.

Just remember this on the street's.No one other than you is looking out for you."
