I don't know if this is true or not. I was listening to the radio and heard that here in the future our cellphone companies are giving our numbers out to telemarketing companies. If this is true I cannot believe the they are able to do this. This really makes me mad and Im wondering if any of you out there have heard the same thing.

I havent heard anything about that.. but if they do, they better send me a check for the minutes they use up on my phone!

Yes, I heard that also. And the cell phone company's are supporting it, for obvious reasons. You can however request that your # not be given out, however this is on a proactive basis only.

I just saw a big thing on TV about it. They said you will need to sign up to be on the national directory, which is what there calling it. You can also get on the supposed no call list with your cell number. If memory serves me right all the major cellular companies are getting involved with the exception of Verizon. Thats all I can remember about it.

I had an email sent to me a couple of weeks ago about this. Too bad that I already deleted it. It said that they were going to make a national cell-phone directory so anyone who has access to it could call your cell phone including businesses and telemarketers using up your minutes and your money! You can go on the national "do not call" website and sign up to 3 numbers on it. I did it for my home phone last year after getting fed up with all the telemarketers and now I get no calls whatsoever. If I find the link I'll try to post it. All you have to have is a valid email address to complete the process.

OK well this is the info that Fis Du gave me. you can either call the number or go on the website and get your number off the list. It says that your number will be on the list for five years.

And I agree with Jason if they are going to call me and use up my mins. then they better be ready to pay for the time used on my phone.
