Hey guys, i'm gonna be buying my first NEW bike shortly. I'm just curious where you guys generally buy your bikes? I was at Neosho Powersports recently checking out bikes, and the 2005 gsx-r 600 in red caught my eye. What are these bikes going for and when would be the best time of the year to buy one? in a couple of months will prices have dropped any?

Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Skeet.

i bought my CBR600RR (R.I.P) from boat world in Harrison arkansas, they were kind of a small buisness so they were really nice and delivered my bike to reeds spring for free. Any new 600 will msrp for $8,000-8,600, if u want the best deals you should go now and buy an '04 because dealers are really trying to push them to make room for the '05 models.

I bought mine off a guy that I work with. Gave me a deal nobody could pass up. ;)

I did notice the kbb value dropped a couple hundred from early fall to late fall.

I bought mine at joplin honda. I will probably go to Neosho next time. 05 GSXR 600 at Neosho is about $7800

JJ's on South Glenstone here in Springfield will be your best bet locally to pick up a showroom new 2005 gixxer 600. If he doesn't have the color you want (I think he has the blue and white one in) then he can order it. If memory serves me correct, and it may not since I have a final today that I've been studying my a$$ off for, the 600cc goes for $7200 or $8200, the 750cc goes for $8600, and the 1Kcc goes for $9800 + or -. Suzuki is doing a special financing option on the 2005s right now. I'm not sure the specifics on it, but JJs will have that info. I do know that it's a special Suzuki offer to get the payments at $99/month for 60 months.

That said, if your not dead set on a 2005 due to the amount you may have to finance, I have my black and yellow 2002 750 for sale (sweet bike) and I know of a 2002 in blue and white in Republic for sale. If you're interested in either of those, just give me a call and I can give you the details on both.

I did the $99 thing with my 04. Not a bad deal.

Go see Chad Noble @ Surdyke... worth the drive IMHO. Doesn't Ray work there too?

I think the guys @ Surdyke are pretty good.

I definitely give two thumbs up to Brett and Terry at Central Cycle in West Plains. It is definitely worth the drive to find someone as honest, helpful and friendly as they were. Jamie and Shel can back me up on this one.

The phone number is 417-256-9323. Ask for Terry and tell him that Tiffany or Jamie referred you to them. He'll take care of you I guarantee it. ;)

In my opinion it is always best to go out of town to purchase a bike. Out of town dealers always seem to come off there MSRP much more than here in town. I don't know about procycle but I would'nt go to JJ'S unless you just want to get:eek: well you know. I have bought two bikes there and they have never worked with me at all. I bought my last bike at neosho powersports, they are very nice people and woked with me so much more than spfd ever did. Saved me 2,000 dollars and got a super deal on a Shoei helmet. I would also take Franks advice on surdyke in Marionville, I have never bought a bike there but have bought plenty of parts from them and they have saved me some BUCKS and are very nice people. Oh and when it comes to buying a bike there is no better time than now brotha.

So no complaints with Neosho Powersports and now is the time to buy? Even if its a 2005 bike?

Thanks for the replies guys!

My father bought his Goldwing trike at Neosho and has nothing but good things to say about them. That's the first place I go for gear because they always seem to stock things that other shops have to order.

I don't recall ever seeing a GSXR at Neosho, though. I remember they had an SV650S there for over a year.

I bought a tire at neosho and they sent me an invitation their Christmas party! I've bought one bike, two quads, two pipes, three helmets and a jacket at joplin and my salesman doesn't even recognize me!!!

Neosho had several '05 gixxers about a month ago. One was a super slick siver/black 600. My mind said yes but my wife says no.

Yamaha or Suzuki I would defenitly say Surdyke, and yes ray works tehre fulltime now.

Yeagers in Sedalia was also really good to deal with (where I bought my 02' R1) but its a 2 hour drive.

Central Cycle in West Plains is top notch for Kawasaki and Honda and Terry has ridden with us (Michelle, Jamie and Tiffany bought their bikes there)

Never dealt with Neosho but I have heard good things, just the drive as fas as I can tell depending on where you live.

JasonZX6R bought his bike from that Kawa dealer in Lebanon but I think they only sell Kawa's and Honda

The Yamaha dealer in Joplin was really nice and low pressure and they also sell Suzuki.

Procycle is well......... iffy at best, used to be decent but I had a friend that was the GM there. Their prices are generally the lowest but there customer service leaves alot to be desired. Also be careful that they aren't trying to sell you a frieght damaged bike, yea it will be cheaper but it will have some damage. (BTW I used to do setups there and bought my old FZ1 from them)

Best advice shop around and go with who you feel most comfratable with and also who you feel is giving you the best deal.

Went to Neosho today. They only had the red gsxr600 on the floor but said they had a black in the crate in storage. We went to look at it and I must say it is BADASS! Definately the color I'll be going with when I do purchase. They also gave me an OTD price below MSRP.

Be sure to ask if that includes Freight and Prep, Paperwork fees, etc.

Some dealers will give an OTD price, and then charge you for the "opportunity" of doing business with them.

Some will counter that the price of the bike itself didn't change, but you'll still end up spending more, because they know you already made the drive, did the loan app, etc, etc.

If you want to look at one without a saleman hovering around let me know and you can look at mine. It's an 04 yellow 6

I’ve heard about a Honda dealer in Chanute, KS that's supposed to sell Hondas cheap.

Unfortunitely I bought mine from Pro Cycle. Neosho was about $800 dollars more. But Pro Cycle wouldn't even throw in a helmet, they didnt even want to give me a full tank of gas. If you'r looking for a used bike check out Cycle Broker at North Glenstone(H Hwy.) and Valley Watermill. I know he had a couple there last weekend. Good priced, very knowledgeable.

That's what I was talking about, good prices but crappy customer service!

A friend bought an R1 and talked them into giving him a free helmet. He got a Shoei out of the deal.

But then his exhaust fell off the bike, and they lied to him for close to a year before he was able to get it replaced. Now, that's bad customer service.

I bought my Honda from Lebanon Cycle Center. They beat Pro Cycle by a couple hundred of dollars, gave me a full tank of gas, were super friendly with helping out with my first bike. They wouldn't throw in a free helmet with the bike but they did give me 40% off of anything I bought from them that day, so I stocked up on new riding gloves, 2 helmets, and tie downs. I've been back for tune-ups and services since then and never had any kind of problems with them what-so-ever. You might give them a call and see what they have in stock.

I'm surprised at how many European bikes I've seen on 125. Where do people go to get service on a Triumph, BMW or Ducati?

I bought mine at Joplin Honda and they were VERY good people from the salesman to finance, to the service dept.
I originally went to procycle and they seemed to not have any time for me (I guess i was not a priority). they blew me off and bought from their competion. I did pay $400 more, but was worth it.

I will never go to procycle again, I went there to look at some of their used or just old bikes, whatever they are, and they wouldn't even talk to me! I had to ask a guy to come answer a couple questions about the bike, and he told me he was busy at the moment and directed me to another guy, who told me he didn't know anything about the particular bike I was looking at... so I got pissed and left... then came back with my grandpa, and they answered his questions... and pretty much ignored me even though the bike was for me.. they don't seem to treat the younger riders with much respect there... and they didn't seem to know too much more about their bikes than an average rider would

I used to take my Triumph to Fayetteville for service. They've gone out of business, so I usually take it to El Dorado Springs since they are the closest dealer.

I'll take it to Performance Cycle in a pinch. They used to sell Triumph, so I assume they know more than the average person.

There's a BMW dealer outside Bentonville, so I guess most guys take their bikes to them.

El Dorado Arkansas? Crap - that seems like a long ways away! Wouldn't KC be closer? I've heard good things about the dealer there, although I can't think of the name right at the moment.

There's actually a Ducati dealer back in Wichita were I'm from. I dropped buy there over Thanksgiving and noticed that they had a brand-new '97 750 for sale for $6,500, which actually had me thinking. It's just that Ducatis sound like such a pain in the ass; forget about having to haul it halfway across the country every time it acts up.

Has anyone heard anything good/bad about D-C Cycle on Kearney? I mainly want to know if their mechanic is any good and how their prices compair.

El Dorado Springs Missouri. It's around Stockton, which is still a long way to haul it.
