You should put that big column thingy in your back yard!

What were you wanting for those helmet shelves again?

I don't want the fixtures, but I'd love to see the look on Jo's face right about now....

Yeah, It would be cool in the back yard, but I bet I could find a better way to invest that $22,000. ;)

I want $3500 for the 356 cubes (helmet shelving).

I don't know if Jo has the internet anymore, she may never see it.

Frank, I heard and don't know if this is true, that those are Honda trade dress items for powerhouse dealers only and Jo didn't have the right to sell them. Any truth to that. I wouldn't mind getting the service letters of you got those.

I did not purchase any of this from Jo, as you described, she didn't have rights to sell it. This is a very unique situation indeed, so unique, it was described as never happening in history that a non-Honda individual could end up with Honda fixtures. You probably already know that a Honda dealer cannot even sell Honda signs, fixtures, etc to individuals.

So how did I end up with them you ask? Since their properties were foreclosed, the new owners eventually get ownership of EVERYTHING on the property, regardless of previous ownership, etc. Anyone that has liens, property, etc in/on the property has a redemption period to announce it, and after that period is over, you loose rights. We have had more than one business that said they had property/liens, etc, and no one has been able to collect a thing. If they want, they will be facing the US Government attny's since it was a govt backed loan that foreclosed, and that is who we purchased it from. I tried to keep it as short and simple as possible, but that is the shortest version I can give without burying you with details. Bottom line is I have paperwork that no one has been able to contest.

Wanna buy $280,000 worth of fixtures for the rock bottom price of $120k?? ;)

I think she cares a little bit because she offered the rest of the Honda inventory to me for $300,000.00 however I think their is a UCC (lien) against that property, so until the banks collects it, I will not be purchasing it.

Good deal,,my point in the reply was mainly to inform and not let them take anyone else down even after the doors were closed. Its good you have paperwork to cover your backside. We could not even say how was your day without them consulting a lawyer to answer,,LOL. One of the last and final emails I got from Jo she indicated she still had some equipment in her possession but wouldn't give me any details. I know those fixtures are pricey, I saw the numbers, I hope you get a buyer.

Yeah, and if ***** National Bank ever finds where she is storing that stuff, she will no longer have it is my suspicion based on the UCC's filed on all of the FF&E.

Thanks! And yes, they are very pricey. We have already sold some of the big/expensive stuff (you may have noticed the aluminum maze is gone, as well as the lightboxes, etc). Also, thanks for the tip on the vehicles we obtained, we are currently in the process of getting titles on all of them.

WOW...who ever payed for those things "new" in the first place got screwed

Hehe, a lot of people would agree with you Ian, however, it is my understanding that when you become a PowerHouse, you are REQUIRED to purchase a certain amount of these fixtures for uniformity. They are really really nice pieces, and very heavy. The rolling tiangle displays that used to be in the show room are over 600 lbs each! Crazy.

what I was told is that you have to buy it from honda but they give you like 100K free if you get the whole package or something like that.

non powerhouse dealers can't even display any of it (probably not smaller things, just know Honda logoed items) if they do buy it.

It is not quite like that ZX, but similar. Honda does help with some of the costs. I have been told by more than one dealer that a standard Honda dealer CAN display them, they just cannot purchase them. So this is a loophole, the can buy from us and display them. That is my understanding.

I stand corrected after receiving a letter from American Honda. I can sell these items to anyone (as I understand), however it would be in everyone's best interest if only Powerhouse Dealers purchased them. If I sell an item to a anyone else there are pages of restrictions on the use.

All of the big Honda stuff is now gone, so I am glad we found homes for all of the fixtures. It is amazing how much pieces of wood with the Honda® cost as much as a very nice house.

Price out the stuff that says "Harley" on it!

Yeah, no kidding, I guess that is why a Harley Dealer did not negotiate on the price and said he wanted it for the Buell section of his dealership. Since he is not a "Honda Level 5 Powerhouse Dealer", I did not sell to him, even though I would have made a lot more money.

Honda sent me a nice letter from their Attorney in Missouri letting me know their stance. I think I am right, and I think I would win if we went to litigation, however you can be $40,000 and two years later right. So, ya know, just smarter business.

You are correct about court tho, even if you win, you will lose.

$40,000 in costs would be cheap. :D
