LED taillight

Is an led taillight a lot brighter than a regular taillight? I was almost run over by a modot truck on my way to school one day and i think im gonna get an led light.

Learning to use situational awareness and your mirrors will do a lot more to keep you safe.
Any thing you can do to become more visible will help.

The first suggestion is based on things that you are in direct control of.

The second is based on the hope that others are paying attention.

BTW I would like to upgrade the brightness of my tail light as well, stock sucks.

The American Sport Bike LED taillight that's on Dpratt40's XB is a flame thrower.

The cheap ones, or an LED bulb in a stock housing, sucks.

Thanks for the input. I ordered a light kit and hopefully it will help out. I live in an area where there are very few riders so I have to be pretty cautious since people are not especially looking for motorcycles. I did learn from my incident that next time I am going to pull off the side of the road asap. ( I was making a left hand turn and i was stopped on a two lane rural road with traffic coming at me)

you can buy 1156 and 1157 LED replacements that have around 20 to 30 LEDs that fit into stock taillight housings off ebay for cheap. it's what I run.
