Western Digital's My Book Essential 2.0 is the latest evolution in their long history of back up devices. This 500GB drive has been outfitted with a USB 2.0 interface for high speed data transfers and near-universal compatibility. With the plug and play USB connection all you have to do is plug the drive in and it is ready to use.

Just one USB port on back. I am currently using one as my "Time Machine" and I am impressed. I also have a Seagate 500 gb that I have been a fan of, however this one looks cooler and runs nearly silent.

I have one of these and I can vouch for it's quality. I can hardly hear it running, quick access time and no problems yet.

They are great drives. I had one for a while, and didn't have any problems with it.

BUT....be careful with them....they are very fragile. Mine was sitting on the ground by my tower when it was running, and I accidently gave it a little bump/kick with my foot. That was enough to kill the drive....I think it may have scratched some of the internals when I bumped it. VERY FRAGILE.

$80 is a great deal on them!!!! I may have to get another one! :D
