Eh, probably around the amount of the current bid. Having followed my childhood memories in purchasing one of these:

I've come to the conclusion that the memory / idea of having one is better than the reality. Bikes have come a LONG way in 25 years...

700. It's sitting in the shop right now, sans tank / seat / side covers. I need to pull / clean / synch the carbs.

I think the bike I would over spend on is the 1998 Yamaha R1 in Red/White:

It's this one for me. Don't know why but it makes me drool every time I see it. 1996 GSX-R 750. If I had money I'd probably over-pay for one.

I would over pay for the bike I have now. After riding MANY different bikes, mine just has that "custom fit" to it.
This was the moto ride of my dreams back in the day. There was a Ducati dealership in Spokane, Wa. that had one on a carousel for the longest time...........I spent hours looking at it.

By the way, I've always felt that with an "emotional" purchase..........it's literally WORTH what you're willing to pay for it.

I like the idea of a yard sale. Rather than the swap meet idea where one guy gets a bunch of his peers to pay for a place for him to liquidate all his ****.

Funny to see that Rex there. After owning / riding the Nighthawk a bit, I determined that if I liked this:
http://danwallander.com/PhotosPageFiles/Motorcycles/NighthawkS.jpg
then this is what I really wanted:

The Rex seems to have the styling I like in the Nightawk, but in a modern platform. After giving the Nighthawk to my dad, I REALLY noticed how far the tech had advanced since the Nighthawk was new. Brakes, suspension, fork flex, etc. I guess I should actually put the Rex on the list of possible replacement bikes for the Buell.

im in the market for something along those lines for a daily rider and some longer distance trips.

Sigh.
I bought, and overpaid (slightly) for my dream bike.
I looked at the statement yesterday and realized that I've finally paid enough on it that I only owe what it's de-valued to. Oh well...at least I'm not upside down on it anymore :D

yup...gonna start with replacing plugs, fuel filter, air filter, and then run some seafoam through it followed by an oil change and top it off with some of that good ole amsoil.
you have any experience using sea foam? ive been trying to read up on it...ive read to put it in the gas tank, put it in the crank case, and also to pout it in the air box and let the carbs suck it up.
is this how you do it? ive honestly never used it before.

my goal was to actually hop on and ride something without tearing it down and doing a bunch of work to it.
i already have another project going on i need to need to finish up on anyway.
if doing what i stated doesnt fix the problem, ill prob just haul it up to kc and have it tuned.
