Hello everyone! I would like to finally actually learn to ride wheelies. I ride an 06 GSXR-600 and have yet to learn riding a wheelie. I have always been a little nervous to try. If anyone could give some pointers and/or advice on the best way to start out I would appreciate it. Just would like to learn the best way and the safest way. Thanks all!

Before going into too much detail, do a quick search. There have been a few really good threads on this exact topic. I'll start with one piece of advice though ... ALWAYS cover your rear brake. True story.

I have had the same bike as yours for a stunt bike and they make great wheelie machines. now first off you need to practice in a secluded area without traffic. second always cover the rear brake and have gear on. third start learning to use your clutch to do them and finally start low and work your way up. I would also recommend race rails, frame sliders, or a full cage cuz at some point you will drop it.

learn on a 50 first or better yet a four wheeler then you dont have to worry about balance side to side

But on your questions IMO I would learn on fiddy or 4 wheeler first to learn brake and throttle control. But as with anything practice practice practice. Oh and yes for sure in a controlled environment with no traffic and a secluded place and not by yourself.
