Every time they come out with some promo about how they have taken their customers feedback and came out with a "better" product, there always seems to be something crappy in the fine print. This time I found "9% final value fee applied to the total amount of the sale—including the cost of the item, shipping, and any other fees a seller may charge (for example, engraving or gift wrapping), excluding any sales tax. "

Now they are charging a commission on SHIPPING charges? I sold a video camera, and shipping with insurance was $190!! So that is another $17 commission on something I didn't make money on!?! I wish FleBay wasn't the only game in town.

you can thank the retards charging $2 for an iPod and charging $200 to ship it to avoid the eBay fees

Yeah, that has always happened as far back as I can remember, but a lot of those get removed for "excessive shipping: circumventing ebay fees".

And 9% is just high! I know some commissions even go up to 15% in certain categories.

**** eBay. I'm done with 'em. Sellers get ripped. Buyers bet ripped.

Unless something SUPER rare that I want and cannot find ANYWHERE else comes along (Unlikely, as I've already found all that crap), I'm done. I haven't even been to ebay in the last year, except once in the last week, and I won't support this crap.

They send me the little surveys and I always tell them to do a system restore to 1998, but they never listen.

Ebid.net was the only one I found when I researched it. I would be open to others.

shipping with insurance was $190!

How much does the shipping really cost?

Confession: I bought something on eBay this morning.

Why? Because the price was over half off everywhere else on the planet, and the seller's been selling them for that price for years. And the shipping was (and always has been) free, so eBay made the lowest commission possible on the deal. :)

I'm curious to see how many sales are made or lost when the shipping gets bumped 10+% to cover the new fees, and people realize that they can't sidestep fees anymore.

It's not that there isn't a suitable replacement for eBay, it's that nobody has taken all the other wannabebays, and had them all form one Voltron-style mega auction website.

Besides, craigslist still gets the win in my book. They'll never sell pu$$y on eBay.

With insurance it was $196 if I recall correctly. A large part was the $3000 or insurance. It was about 24"x30"x22" and was about 60lbs.

Do you recall all of the girls that sold there "medically proven" virginity on eBay? Them were the days.

I didn't think that those were allowed to transpire, at least in this country.

Oh, and today I received something saying the maximum final sales value will double from the current $50 to $100 soon. Lame.

I'd love to not pay their high fees anymore but if you don't go where the buyers are your stuff is just gonna sit around and collect dust.

I was hoping for a good alternative. I hear Amazon yields good results for sellers, but probably not motorcycle parts. I have had terrible experiences selling iPhones on eBay, so anything has to be better than that!
