My new truck!
Well, here it is. 2001 Z71 Chevy Silverado LT. 5.3L Vortec, New trans and transfer case. Fully loaded interior. Leather full power seats, heated seats, power locks, push button 4x4, CD player and tinted windows. Its got a couple bumps and bruises on the outside, and the drivers seat has a small rip in it.
So far I have added seat covers, floor mats, a new and better head unit, and a cold air intake. Ive got a billit grill, and after market HID headlights on the way. Magnaflow exhaust should be coming in the next couple weeks. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I've got a 99 Z-71 and the "push button" 4 wheels drive works flawlessly... Always has. It's got about 127k on it now and I have had it for 7 years.

Like said before they are notorious for not working when needed everytime. It's electronics. If one thing doesn't tell another what to do then you are hosed. I WILL NOT own a 4x4 without manual 4wd selector in the floor and I won't own anything other than a car that's not 4wd! When the lever is pushed/pulled to 4wd, it's in; to 2wd it's out...no questions! I had a 95 Blazer with push button that blew all sorts of stuff up cause I pushed the 2wd button, it lit up but nothing ever changed and because it was, for lack of better words, "stuck" between 4 and 2 and trying to send both signals so the speed sensor never kicked it out after it's max 4wd speed. In the aftermath it was found that the little plastc piece on the button that actually pushes the part that tells the transfer and hubs what to do broke so the light changed but nothing ever kicked out. I use 4wd A LOT in my work, especially this time of year, so it's nice to know exactly what your truck is doing, no questions! Ok, soapbox done! |

Nice truck clay! I had one just like it. The only major problem with that truck is that it's extended cab. Once you have your first, you can't live without it!! LOL

yea im loving it! Its a pretty good riding truck, too. The only thing is, going from filling up a bike only that gets 40+ mpg for 3 years, to filling up a truck that gets 15mpg= OUCH!

You should be getting 17-18 MPG in that truck easy. When was the last "tune-up"
